What is Beef Shawarma?

If you’ve never had beef shawarma, you’re in for a treat.! A famous Middle Eastern street food, shawarma is made with chicken or beef that is heavily marinated in oil, lemon juice, and warm spices. Then, it is placed on a vertical rotisserie or spit and slow-roasted for days until it is unbelievably tender. 

Most commonly, it is shaved off and served stuffed into bread with fresh toppings and a drizzle of tahini or tzatziki. However, you can also find it presented as part of a platter along with sides like tabbouleh and hummus. No matter how it’s plated, it’s always incredible and is guaranteed to leave you coming back for more. 

Don’t worry, though. You don’t need a fancy spit to make your own beef shawarma at home. I’ll show you how to create the same bold flavor and tender texture by searing on the stovetop instead!

If you’ve never had sun-dried tomatoes in pasta, prepare to be amazed. They’re one of my favorite ways to spruce up a simple dish with a pop of color and a rich, savory, slightly smokey flavor.

So what is "marry me chicken" anyway? It's said that this popular chicken dish is so good your partner will be asking for a marriage proposal after tasting it.

Of course that's just an over the top statement that's just a joke, but its name is basically saying this is one of the tastiest chicken recipes you'll make. It's simply creamy sun dried tomato chicken but that title just doesn't do it justice.

It comes together quickly and doesn't require a hot oven, chicken breasts are just quickly cooked on the stove and finished with the best pan sauce.

Those sun dried tomatoes bring bold, concentrated tomato-y flavor and the cream balances it perfectly. And let's not forget to mention there's also a fair amount of garlic and parmesan included in the sauce as well to really build up layer after layer of flavor.

Homemade Fried Bread

This fry bread recipe is a family favorite recipe! It's one of those comfort foods that reminds me of my mom's dinners growing up since we always had these in the rotation and I always looked forward to them.

Some people refer to these as "Indian fry bread" but there's a bit of confusion around this and they are more correctly known as Navajo fry bread since they were a created by Native American's.

These are very quick and easy to make from scratch, and they use ingredients you likely already have on hand. The dough is a breeze to mix up, you only need a shaggy rough dough here. No mixer and no kneading required.

You'll love how fluffy they are, and even though they are made with the simplest of ingredients they have undeniably delicious flavor!

What I recommend is making a double batch because people will be wanting them for the main dish for Navajo tacos and extras for dessert finished with honey butter.

The BEST Smothered Chicken

While this may not be a traditional smothered chicken like you'll find in the South, this is my idea of something even better!

It's easy to prepare and it has the most delicious blend of fresh flavors. It's like a BLT sandwich transformed into a crave-able chicken dish.

One change here however is that we do substitute spinach for the traditional lettuce, the "L" of BLT. This is because lettuce wouldn't hold up well to cooking and doesn't have near as much flavor as spinach. Soggy lettuce, no thanks.

I'm nearly certain this is one of those entrees that will wow your family and friends. That's basically a given right? Because it includes bacon!

I recommend pairing this with pasta of sorts, we like this lemon orzo. Then also steamed asparagus is a nutritious and colorful pairing.
